1. Castle of the Earls Guidi

This medieval castle with a manuscript-filled library & bell tower with views offers an audio tour.

Slide 1 of 10

The views are breathtaking. Sit on the bench and enjoy the views of Poppi

The Castle has a cozy atmosphere. There are several nice exhibits which provide relevant background information about the village. However, some information was only available in Italian.

We were staying nearby and decided to walk up to Poppi Castle ( and when I say really is an uphill walk). The castle was everything I expected it to be and more. It was beautiful, and the views were amazing. It is very rich in history and has many stories behind it. You can even walk in an old jail cell. The walk up to the bell tower is nice, just beware, the bell still rings every 30 minutes. I recommend going. There is also a cute cafe across the street when you are finished.

Very nice castle! Worth to stop to see it. Near you can also find a parking lot.

A small castle that is very easy to navigate. Educational information is attractive and clearly written making it effective. It is very clean both inside and outside. The grounds a lovely. The surrounding village inside the castle walls is also well kept. The chapel is pretty inside. The care/bar in the plaza is well run and has good food, beer, and coffee. They have other beverages but I didn't try everything.

One of my favourite places in Tuscany. I would like to come back many times. You have an amazing view of the Casentino region, quite different from the most famous one of the Tuscany, but amazing 😍I trulyrecommend to come if you are near Florence and you have to go to Arezzo

Beautiful old town and smallish but well preserved castle with an interesting history. The Guidi's seemed to be on the losing side of local wars quite a lot! Nice cafe just outside

Small castleThe mirror gallery is stunningWorth it definitely

The castle has history in spades, but views that are better than anything

spectacular view outside the castle.. the entrance is 7€..

Very nice zoo with many European animals in their habitat. The (quite old) brown bear is super cute. We spent half a day spotting the animals with our 3yo daughter. The animals have plenty of space and look happy.Entrance is 8€ for adults and 6.5€ for kids. There is a restaurant where you can buy food and sandwiches for picnic and also a playground (old, but still our daughter enjoyed it quite a lot)

It’s Free! Beautiful views of Val di Chiana

Sorry to say but After 4 years I came to the Poppi Zoo but unfortunately same like before...Very Need to cleaning and well organised Animals Caged... you can't see anything I mean animals.... and for Animals no have any Roofs shades...Grazia....

A very nice zoo in the middle of nature. Not all animals were visible but it was a nice walk and fresh air. Not crowded at all, i think we were the only visitors.

You should definitely make a detour and see this church.(Original)Auch diese Kirche, die sich in unmittelbarer Nähe der Chiesa San Fedele befindet, hat mir gefallen. Construction of the church began in 1657, was opened for worship in 1659 and completed in 1705.The interior has three chapels, in the largest the notable painting: "Madonna with Child and St. John" from the school of F. (Translated by Google) Wonderful place and delicious meat. We happened upon it today by accident but it was a surprising discovery. Stunning views at this beautiful course, many lovely holes making great use of the terrain and great facilities. Luca the manager was very helpful to arrange clubs and buggy for my children and I, and we enjoyed 9 holes with the sun setting, and a delicious meal at the restaurant. Highly recommend.

A great course with fantastic views of Tuscan hill country, I was made most welcome, my other family members not playing were equally treated and as a bonus given a history of the area which included the fact that the famous Italian artist Michael Angelo was born and grew up in the area as well as other interesting facts....This is not a critique but instead of using directional flags which as it was my first time playing the course, found a little confusing, I noticed a bronze statue near the club house, several of similar artwork could be used around the course where necessary instead, adding to the fabulous setting of a well maintained and enjoyable day of Golf......Rob
